At Milan Design Week, the start-up HILOS presented its latest development: the Studio OS software platform is intended to simplify the design and production of 3D-printed shoes. As the “first generative design software specifically for 3D-printed footwear”, Studio OS uses artificial intelligence to transform initial concepts into wearable products.
The interface allows designers of all skill levels to generate detailed 3D CAD models for production using text commands, sketches or mood boards. HILOS thus promises not only an accelerated design process, but also more flexibility and control over the end result.
In Studio OS, shoes can be divided into separate components such as soles or uppers and recreated at component level. Using AI, it should be possible to create market-ready products in just 90 days.
