A first glimpse of the future of shoe design was recently given at a fashion show in Hong Kong. Louis Vuitton, one of the biggest names in the luxury segment, presented a 3D-printed sneaker in collaboration with the start-up Zellerfeld.
According to Louis Vuitton, the model called LV Cobra impresses with its sleek shapes and textured surface. A soft mesh fabric is also intended to ensure improved comfort. This focus on innovative materials and organic design is a trademark of Zellerfeld in the 3D printed shoe sector.
There are no official details yet on the launch or price of the extravagant sneaker. However, the public presentation in Hong Kong underlines the increased interest of luxury labels in additive manufacturing. The method enables completely new design freedom.
