Maker 3D Prints Functioning B787 Jet Engine

Spanish 3D printing enthusiast with the nickname Harcoreta has 3D printed and assembled a Boeing 787 jet engine.

The parts for the GEnx-1B model were 3D printed on his Prusa i3 using common ABS filament. Among other components, the replica is made of 18 blades for the main fan, an additional 18 blades for the internal turbine and a thrust reverser.

Harcoreta, who has published some pictures along with a video, has plans to test the engine on his Bixler RC plane.
