Massivit 3D and Sika Germany launch partnership for specialty resins

Massivit 3D Printing Technologies, a leading provider of industrial 3D printing systems, yesterday announced a new strategic partnership with Sika Deutschland GmbH. The aim of the collaboration is to launch specialized, co-branded resins for high-speed tooling applications to be used on the Massivit 10000 additive manufacturing series.

Sika, a globally active Swiss group with a history stretching back over a hundred years, is active in the construction and sealants industry. The listed company generates annual sales of around CHF 11.2 billion and has a market capitalization of around CHF 40 billion. The partnership aims to further advance additive manufacturing through the development of high-performance materials.

The first two jointly branded materials, SikaBiresin CIM 120 and SikaBiresin CIM 80, will be presented at the JEC World exhibition in Paris. SikaBiresin CIM 120 is an aluminum-filled epoxy material for high-speed tooling designed for high-temperature applications, while SikaBiresin CIM 80 offers a cost-effective solution for room temperature tooling applications.

The Massivit 10000 system, which is already used in the automotive, marine and consumer goods industries, enables automated, rapid tool production, customized manufacturing and prototyping. The expansion of the material ecosystem is designed to meet critical industry needs.

Erez Zimerman, CEO at Massivit, commented “I am thoroughly excited about the new partnership with Sika, established with the purpose of providing an even greater range of purpose-designed materials to serve crucial market needs. We’re thrilled to offer manufacturers a winning combination of industrial-grade materials with high-speed digital technologies. We look forward to the fruits of this partnership with a trusted and leading provider of advanced materials. We look forward to sharing our latest innovations with the global community at JEC World.”
