Sculpteo and Threeding Announce Partnership for 3D Printed Objects

The 3D file-sharing marketplace Threeding and Sculpteo announced their partnership for the production of 3D models from Threeding’s online catalogue.

As of March, 3D models available on Threeding will not only be available for download but can also be ordered as 3D printed objects. 3D printing company Sculpteo will take over the printing process in their facilities in France and the US and ship the objects to customers world wide. Threeding’s customers can choose between 6 materials and over 40 different colours.

“With this move we make 3D printing available for a larger customer base, which did not have access to our products before. Thereby we increase the market demand for our products and broaden our scope of business.” says Stan Partalev co-founder of Threeding. “Sculpteo is a perfect partner for us, knowledgeable and experienced in the printing process so that we can ensure the highest quality for our customers.”

“People need to get in touch with 3D printed objects, they need to feel and see them in order to find out how useful this technology is. Together with Threeding we are making a step to develop the community and the knowledge about 3D printing.”, says Arthur Cassaignau, Business Developer at Sculpteo.

The new service will be in the form of white label and Threeding.com will be a merchant of record for those deliveries. Designers with concerns about their copyrights will have options to restrict download and let their models available only for physical delivery. Together with 3D printing services, Threeding is adding numerous new functionalities which will improve significantly its users’ experience. The company will start accepting bank transfers for order above $100, Paypal Express Checkout, better visualization, etc.

Both Threeding and Sculpteo are looking forward to the mutual partnership and are expecting a significant sales upside by enabling 3D printing for a broader customer base.
