Laser Welding Solutions, a US Navy partner for the manufacture of submarine components, is leasing 2 additional ARCEMY metal 3D printing systems with an option to purchase from AML3D.
Laser Welding Solutions, a supplier to the U.S. Navy, has ordered the new ARCEMY 2600 systems to accelerate the qualification program for nickel-aluminum-bronze (NAB) components for the U.S. Navy submarine industrial base. The two systems will be delivered under a 12-month lease agreement that includes an option to purchase the systems during the term of the lease.
The lease is valued at approximately AUD 0.70 million (USD 0.46 million) and includes 12 months of software licensing and technical support. To meet LWS’s requirements and expedite the US Navy’s NAB qualification program, the ARCEMY 2600 systems will be air freighted from AML3D’s facility in Adelaide, South Australia to Houston, Texas and are expected to be operational within 8 to 10 weeks.
This major order from LWS demonstrates the continued success of AML3D’s US expansion strategy, which aims to integrate ARCEMY systems into the US Navy’s submarine industry supply chain. The US, as the world’s largest market for additive manufacturing, is the most important growth market for AML3D. The company plans to establish a U.S. headquarters, manufacturing center and sales team in Ohio to better support U.S. customers and win additional business.
AML3D CEO Sean Ebert commented: “This new order for 2 additional ARCEMY systems helps deepen our relationship with LWS and illustrates how important our advanced manufacturing technology is to the US Defence sector. AML3D ARCEMY systems can produce higher quality components, faster and with less waste than traditional manufacturing which is driving demand from the US Navy and the wider US Navy submarine industrial base supply chain.”
The new order from LWS underscores the importance of AML3D’s 3D printing technology to the defense industry and the company’s continued expansion in the U.S. market. With the implementation of ARCEMY systems at key US Navy suppliers, AML3D strengthens its position as a leading provider of additive manufacturing solutions.
