Velo3D appoints Alexander Varlahanov as new CTO

Velo3D, Inc, a renowned additive manufacturing technology company, promotes Alexander Varlahanov to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Varlahanov will further develop Velo3D’s additive manufacturing technology, strengthening the company’s leadership position.

Varlahanov brings more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing technologies and has been instrumental in developing and scaling their integrated additive manufacturing solution since joining Velo3D in 2017. As CTO, he will also oversee the technology team, responsible for developing new alloys and techniques.

“In his various roles at Velo3D over the course of his career, Alex has made tremendous contributions to the company and has been pivotal in developing our innovative technology,” said Benny Buller, Founder and CEO of Velo3D. “These contributions have helped us quickly become one of the leaders in our category. I believe that in this new role Alex will continue to execute on our mission of helping innovators create the next generation of technologies that change the world.”

In his new role, Varlahanov will oversee the improvement of existing products and the development of new products, working closely with other teams within the company.

Varlahanov previously worked at GUZIK Technical Enterprises for 17 years and holds a master’s degree in applied mathematics and computer science. He holds four patents, two of which he obtained at Velo3D.
