3D Hubs has just released their Trend Report for April 2015 and – for the first time – they have looked into various file formats people upload. This gave insight into the most popular 3D modelling softwares.
The winner is the professional CAD suite from Dassault Systemes, SolidWorks, closely followed by SketchUp. “We found it interesting that the 3D Warehouse, one of the largest online repositories for 3D files and the software are closely related”, 3D Hubs writes. Autodesk clearly dominates the chart displayed below, claiming half of the top 10.
On the list of “Highest Rated 3D Printers” Zortrax M200 takes over from Form 1+, which is now rated second best desktop 3D printer. Chinese 3D printer CTC-3D ranks third again this month, followed by Big Builder Dual Feed Extruder and Prusa i3.
