Filabot Recycles Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Spoons into Filament

Filabot, a company that has developed desktop filament extruder systems to recycle plastic materials, teamed up with ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry’s.

By collecting used spoons at Ben an Jerry’s locations, Filabot is going to recycle them into 3D printer filament. Filabot will provide the “Every Spoon Matters” fiber drums for selected locations, in which the plastic spoons are gathered. They will then grind them into pellets and extrude some of the pellets into filament.

The filament and pellets will be available to their customers once the first batch of spoons is processed.
