Fuboss: The most Affordable and User-Friendly way to obtain full Body 3D Scans

Fuboss brings to the 3D enthusiasts the most affordable way to make full body scans by themselves. This new scanning system makes it easy to turn any person or medium sized object into a digital 3D model ready for 3D printing in only few minutes.

Fuboss solves the main drawbacks of the economical handheld 3D scanners, so they can be used to their full potential. The model is placed on a rotating platform and the 3D sensor is installed in its tower, so the user can completely control the scanning process using a three axis joystick with precision and simplicity. This way there will be no more tangled cords around the model or walls and furniture hindering the process and resulting in “lost track” messages that make you restart the scanning again and again. Now the user can pay full attention to the screen while scanning the model. Also its lighting system obtains the best color reproduction without shadows or patches.

Jose M. Martinez came up with the idea a little over a year ago. Being a 3D enthusiast, he bought a handheld 3D scanner, but soon found that using it for creating his own 3D printed figurines was almost impossible. He was tired of hassling with hanging cords and having to worry about maintaining the required distance between the scanner and the model.

“Out of this frustration came my motivation to create a full body scanning system. That is how Fuboss was born.” explains Martinez.

Jose M. Martinez is an industrial engineer with a specialization in production. He has been co-owner of a digital printing shop for six years, and R&D, project and quality manager in a plastic injection factory for three years. Patricia Martinez, his partner, is a laboratory technician and also has experience in sales and account management.

In order to raise funds for mass production, Fuboss has launched an Indiegogo campaign. Fuboss will be available for pre-order until December 31, 2015.
