Chinese 3D printer specialist Creality has unveiled several new products as part of a celebration to mark the company’s tenth anniversary. In addition to 3D printers, the company also presented 3D scanners. These included the new CR-Scan Otter.
The new Creality scanner CR-Scan Otter is able to scan objects in the range from 10 to 2000 mm with an accuracy of up to 0.02 mm. The device is equipped with an innovative four-lens stereo vision system. A set with long focal length double lenses for scanning small objects, providing richer detail, and a set with short focal length double lenses for scanning large objects, covering a wider range of sizes.
CR-Scan Otter with one-shot 3D imaging technology provides stable, hand-held scanning with fast tracking and minimal tracking loss. Otter uses advanced structure-light stereo matching and optical design to accurately replicate real object textures and contours.
An interesting feature is the face and body mode. This uses an advanced algorithm for detailed face and hair scans in 2 minutes, uses harmless near-infrared light of safety class 1, which is both safe and harmless to the skin.
The CR-Scan Otter 3D scanner costs 872 euros and can be purchased in the official store.
