Dutch designer Iris van Herpen is known for her stunning 3D printed garments in the fashion world and beyond. Her Autumn Winter 2016 collection, that was unveiled at the Paris Fashion Week, includes two 3D printed dresses.
The collection featured two different looks: Lucid and Phantom dresses. While the Lucid garments were made from transparent hexagonal laser-cut elements connected with translucent flexible tubes, the Phantom dresses were created using a light-weight tulle fabric.
The Magma dresses were 3D printed by Materialise using flexible TPU material to create a fine web with 3D printed polyamide elements. One of these dresses was made from 5,000 3D printed parts that were stitched together.
