Modix presents MAMA-1700 and new FGF 3D printer line

The 3D printer manufacturer Modix has announced the market launch of the MAMA-1700 and a new product line with FGF technology (Fused Granulate Fabrication). The innovative fused granulate process promises significant advantages over conventional filament printers.

Instead of filaments, FGF printers use plastic granules. According to Modix, this allows printing speeds to be increased from grams per hour to kilograms per hour. Life-size objects can thus be produced in hours instead of days. At the same time, material costs are reduced to just a few dollars per kilogram, and the range of materials extends from recycled to highly filled plastics.

The new MAMA series is intended to cover various sizes for different industrial sectors such as aviation and shipping. The MAMA-1700 with a construction volume of 1.7 x 1.0 x 1.0 meters will be the first to be available in 2024. The starting price is 42,000 US dollars including housing and Dyze nozzle system.

“Modix is taking a major technological step forward with this line and consolidating its competitive position,” explains CEO Shachar Gafni. “We will continue to expand the FGF platform, with further announcements to follow later this year.”

In addition to technology, the company is also focusing on close partnerships with sales partners worldwide. “We are investing in relationships as much as we are in development and are excited to now lead our partners into this attractive new market,” adds CCO John Van El.

The first MAMA-1700 pre-orders will be possible from July, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.
