Rapid manufacturer Proto Labs has announced new enhancements to its Fineline Additive Manufacturing service that will enable the prototyping and low-volume production company to ship 3D-printed parts in as fast as one day.
Designers and engineers using either stereolithography (SL) or selective laser sintering (SLS) can upload 3D CAD models to Proto Labs’ website to see if their designs qualify for quick-turn service.
Proto Labs has acquired the 3D printing company fineline back in April 2014 and since then incorporated the service into their existing CNC milling and injection moulding services.
“We’re extremely excited that customers can now get additive parts built with the same one- and two-day turnaround time as our other manufacturing services,” says Rob Connelly, vice president of additive manufacturing at Proto Labs.
