3D Printed Filament Spool Holder Designed by Creative Tools

The team of the Swedish 3D printing online store Creative Tools shared their design for a 3D printed stand alone filament spool holder on Thingiverse

The fully 3D printable rotating stand for filament spools was designed to be easily made without the need for fasteners such as screws, nuts or glue. The spindle is shaped to fit most commonly used filament spools with shaft holes ranging from 16 mm to 62 mm in diameter. Further it can also be used for spools-less filament coils.

The arm of the construction contains a pocket for inserting a piece of sponge which acts as a filament filter and keeps the printing material clean and lubricated by adding a few drops of oil.
