EOS at the EuroMold 2014: Silver jubilee celebrations, continued success and growth

EOS, the global technology and quality leader for high-end Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions, is exhibiting once again at this year’s 21th EuroMold in Frankfurt (25.-28.11.2014). Under the motto ‘Experience quality in Additive Manufacturing’ the company is presenting its steadily growing portfolio of Additive Manufacturing solutions for the polymer and metal fields alongside suitable software and services in Hall 11/Booth E148. Dr Adrian Keppler, Sales and Marketing Director (CMO) at EOS, emphasises that “The commitment of large Fortune 100 companies in the field of Additive Manufacturing is impressive proof of the fact that EOS technology is finally here to stay in manufacturing, and makes completely new approaches to production and areas of use possible. Now the important thing is to ensure the factors relevant for series production so that our technology can be used in modern manufacturing environments. These include even more comprehensive process monitoring and quality assurance features as well as further development of the right materials for industry-specific fields of application. We can provide our customers with the support of a team of experienced application consultants if necessary to help them identify the right applications for Additive Manufacturing.”

EOS silver jubilee: steady global growth and technology leadership
EOS has been making unprecedented growth history for 25 years. As of October 2014, around 1,500 EOS systems were installed worldwide. In the last fiscal year, turnover increased by 36 percent compared to the previous year to reach 177 million euros. The company has also seen a steady increase in employee figures. EOS currently has around 540 employees working at 11 sites, with employee figures up by about 8 percent compared to the last fiscal year, and is planning to increase the total number of employees to about 640 by the end of the current fiscal year. This growth is also reflected by the 17,000 m² of floor space at the new Technology and Customer centre in Krailling/Germany, which the company moved into in the summer of this year. Here and at the other three technology centres worldwide, EOS uses about 100 in-house developed systems in the fields of research & development and application in order to develop technology, materials and applications.

Experience the latest generations of EOS systems at our booth
EOS will be presenting the very latest systems at its booth in Frankfurt: The EOS P 396 production system for the polymer segment, the outstanding features of which are increased production capacity, process stability and usability of size range, at the same time keeping component properties at a consistently high level. Also on show at the fair will be the recently launched metalworking system EOS M 290, which is setting new benchmarks for Additive Manufacturing in terms of quality management and monitoring. Finally, EOS is also showcasing the EOS M 400, a new modular design metal system generation which the company is offering for use in production to facilitate larger components, increased productivity and automation as well as enhanced quality assurance. The complete material, software and service portfolio will also be on show.

EOSTATE Quality Program: Process monitoring, quality assurance for industrial production
The crucial factors for customers interested in series manufacturing are reproducible top-quality components at the lowest unit prices possible. A smooth quality assurance chain makes a significant contribution to this. EOS already provides comprehensive quality assurance for its systems and materials, and these have now been supplemented by a modular online, building in-process monitoring program. Within the context of the so-called EOSTATE Quality Program, EOS is now planning a series of products for real-time quality assurance during the building process. This makes a holistic quality assurance possible – layer-by-layer, component for component.

A new EOSTATE software tool will make it possible to remotely monitor the progress of the machinery in future for instance. The machine operator can set up customised messages for status signals or warnings. Equally, live access to data allows the remaining building time, machine sensor data or general job and machine information to be queried.

IPCM-M extra: Up to 50 percent increase in productivity
The so-called Integrated Process Chain Management IPCM-M extra for EOS metal systems ensures maximum product quality for prototypes and in series production. It improves the productivity of Additive Manufacturing systems and thus increases the efficiency of the process. Like its predecessor IPCM-M, the IPCM-M extra has a modular structure and can be integrated in all system environments. With the new generation, the IPCM-M extra powder conveying module offers around 50 percent more conveying performance and the service life of the powder screen module is about 50 percent longer.
