Mango3D presents powerful Lychee Slicer update

Mango3D has introduced a new version of the popular Lychee Slicer. The software for preparing 3D print jobs has been extensively revised and offers numerous optimizations.

Lychee Slicer is one of the few slicing solutions that is not directly associated with a specific 3D printer manufacturer. As a proprietary product, it is not open source, but is available in a free and a paid Pro version.

Originally designed for resin printers only, Lychee has also supported slicing for FFF 3D printers since 2022. This dual approach is practical, as only one tool needs to be learned for different 3D printing processes.

The current version 6.0.2 brings many new features. Under the hood, the code base has been significantly revised and prepared for future extensions. Support generation has been completely redeveloped and now allows the automatic networking of supports for greater stability. A “Grid” mode optimizes supports for residual impressions. There are also new functions such as “Ironing” for surface smoothing and hidden seams for FFF jobs.

Other highlights include Boolean operations on 3D models during job preparation and direct support for numerous new 3D printers, including many of the latest models. Overall, Mango3D promises a significant increase in the performance and usability of its flagship product.

The Lychee Slicer Pro for Resin and FFF printing is available at a price of 99.90 euros per year. Separate licenses for Resin or FFF only are available for €69.90 per year each.
