Materialise Teams Up with Velleman to Develop 3D Printer Builder Software

Belgium-based 3D software specialist Materialise has teamed up with wholesaler and electronics developer Velleman to create a custom builder software for the Velleman K8400 Vertex 3D printer.

The Materialise builder software will enhance the communication between the second generation of the DIY 3D printer kit by Velleman and the 3D software used.

Karel Brans, Business Line Director for OEM Partnerships at Materialise, explains: “The Velleman Vertex Builder will make the 3D printing process as straight-forward as possible for everyone with a K8400 Vertex printer. It will operate much in the same way as printer drivers for 2D printing and will make critical functionalities such as automatic support generation easier and faster than ever.”
