Meshy.AI enables free 3D model creation based on text input or photos

The startup Meshy.AI has presented an AI solution for the rapid generation of 3D models. Using text and image inputs, it aims to create detailed 3D models in under a minute.

According to Meshy.AI, creating high-quality 3D content is often difficult and time-consuming. It therefore sees great market potential for the use of AI. The challenge is to balance quality and speed.

According to the developers, they combined different AI concepts in order to combine rapid generation times with a high level of detail. Users can specify the desired models via text, images or 3D scans.

Primarily, the tool is aimed at game developers. However, the 3D models can be exported in .STL as well as .OBJ format. Post-processing can also be used to prepare the models for 3D printing.

Currently, the software is still in an alpha phase and therefore free model creations are also possible. Every day users receive 200 free credits. For each text-to-3D task, a fee of 10 credits is charged. For each image-to-3D task, 20 credits are charged. For AI texturing tasks, tasks with text specifications cost 15 credits per task, while tasks with concept drawings cost 30 credits.

Credits can also be purchased via credit card. Meshy.AI has a webapp and is also accessible via Discord.
