Models by MakeWithTech is a platform for makers and creatives to create and share customized 3D printed models. In contrast to other platforms with predefined models, the platform offers extensive customization and design options.
Users can choose from thousands of ready-made templates, customize them to their needs with a powerful editor and create their very own parametric 3D models with OpenSCAD integration. OpenAI GPT-3 also supports with AI-generated model ideas.
Basic membership is free of charge. In the premium area, starting at 5 US dollars per month, there are extended functions such as private model storage, OpenSCAD debugging tools and creator tools for promoting your own models. Some premium features are available to all users in return for advertising.
The free features include template search, customization, preview and download of finished STL and SCAD files. Paid customers also benefit from a watch list system, storage of template parameters, simultaneous multiple renderings and individual creator pages.
The creator has now announced that it will cease operations at the end of 2024. Although there are over 6,000 registered users, only a few have subscribed to the premium model. For this reason, the portal will be discontinued. All automatic Premium renewals will be canceled from the second quarter of 2024.
