Online tool CityPrint enables 3D-printed city models

AnkerMake has added a new feature called CityPrint to its 3D model portal Make It Real. This allows parts of city maps to be exported and printed as 3D models.

In recent years, the number of 3D printing repositories has grown rapidly. Several 3D printer manufacturers operate their own portals to build an ecosystem around their hardware. It’s a challenge for newer platforms to stand out enough from the established ones. AnkerMake has introduced CityPrint, an interesting tool.

CityPrint includes detailed 3D data of seven international metropolises, including New York, Berlin, Hamburg, and London. One simply selects a square or rectangular section of a city and can then download it as an STL file.

The finished 3D model reproduces all the buildings, streets, bridges, and landmarks of the selected city section to scale. This creates unique city souvenirs that you design and print yourself.

The simplified models are also suitable as a basis for your own creative projects. The app is available here.
