3D Hubs has just released their Trend Report for June, which is now based on over 17,000 devices. The 3D printer community has expanded its network by over 1,000 devices in the last month only.
As a special addition to the report, 3D Hubs asked its customers about their favourite sources for 3D models. Thingiverse is their first choice, accounting for 56% and therefor clearly dominating the chart. Surprisingly, people tend to use the largest search engine when looking for 3D designs as well. Google ranked second, followed by forums represented by Reddit and online community forums of 3D printer manufacturer.
The DIY platform Instructables comes in forth, followed by TinkerCAD, MyMiniFactory and GrabCAD.
The category Highest Rated Desktop Printer features a surprising new entrant taking over the first position: the Kossel XL, a delta 3D printer available as a kit. Another delta device, the DeltaWASP ranks second, followed by Zortrax M200 and the SLA device Form 1+.
The ranking of industrial printers hasn’t changed that much. The Objet Eden 260 from Stratasys and 3D Systems’ Projet 3500 HDMax are both holding onto their complete 5 star rating, taking over the first two positions.
BEETHEFIRST has recorded an astonishing MoM growth of 160%. The Portuguese 3D printer manufacturer has recently announced four new printers.
