3D printed recycled plastic faucets

The company LikeWise Pro manufactures faucets using 3D printing and recycled PET plastic. According to the company, this combines innovation with sustainability. By using recycled PET filament from plastic bottles, the taps are given a partially transparent appearance.

Integrated into the structure of the taps are LEDs that indicate the temperature of the water through color codes. Blue stands for cold water and red for hot water. This is intended to enable safer operation. The LEDs are controlled by a temperature sensor that reads the data from the pipe.

In addition, a flow meter is installed that can detect leaks and automatically shut off the water. According to LikeWise Pro, the faucet can also be controlled and monitored via smartphone app. This would allow users with cognitive impairments, for example, to operate the faucet safely.

In addition to convenience and safety, LikeWise Pro emphasizes the sustainability of the 3D-printed faucets. By recycling PET plastics, the company is helping to remove plastic waste from the environment. The environmentally friendly manufacturing process also reduces noise and pollutant emissions compared to conventional faucets, he said.

Overall, 3D printing makes it possible to produce customized and innovative products from recycled plastic, the company said. The faucets are an example of how to combine sustainability and functionality, it said.
