The 3D Systems iSense 3D Scanner, which has been introduced for the iPad last year, is now also available for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
With the included 3D printed case, users can simply snap the iSense onto their iPhone and start to transform real life people and objects into 3D scans. The upgrade for the iSense app, which is available for both iPad and iPhone, comes with a few major upgrades. Improvements include enhanced tracking, increased speed up to 3 times faster than previous versions and full colour vibrancy via texture mapping. Objects can now be captured within an average scan time of 5 to 30 seconds. The intuitive interface of the app allows for simple editing and preparing 3D files for 3D printing.
The iSense 3D Scanner uses a scanning engine by Occipital for its capture technology, and the 3D Systems iSense software app for processing and editing the data as part of a collaboration between 3DS and Occipital to innovate and optimize mobile 3D scanning for 3D printing.

The iSense for iPhone, priced at $ 400 (€ 429), is available for pre-order with shipments expected to start July 7.The iSense app is available for free to all existing iSense owners in the IOS app store.
