AMT launches compact depowdering system for desktop 3D printing

Post-processing solutions provider AMT has unveiled the PostPro DPX, a new, compact depowdering system for plastic print parts from desktop 3D printing. With a price tag of 15,995 euros, the system is primarily aimed at small production environments and users in the dental, jewelry and prototyping sectors.

The DPX was developed as a cost-effective addition to the already available PostPro SFX for chemical vapor smoothing. According to AMT, the SFX has been sold more than 100 times in just two months. The new depowdering system is designed to complete the post-processing chain on site with efficient powder recovery and parts cleaning.

AMT relies on the touchscreen control panel and an ionization module to reduce static charge, as well as powerful filter units and ATEX certification for protected operation. The compact design has been designed for minimum space requirements.

For users of desktop 3D printing systems such as those from Formlabs or Sinterit, the DPX is intended to offer a safe and space-saving alternative to industrial systems. AMT is talking in particular about environments with high throughput and limited space.

As a complete package, AMT offers the combination of DPX and SFX at a bundle price of 35,995 euros. This corresponds to a cost saving of around 15 percent compared to purchasing the two systems separately. According to AMT, the bundle enables an end-to-end process chain for additive manufacturing from a single source.
