Formfutura Expands Range of EasyWood Filaments

Dutch 3D printing material developer Formfutura has just added 4 new options to their EasyWood filament series, offering now a total of 7 variations.

Additionally to Ebony, Coconut and Olive, customers can now also get the wood-like filament in Pine, Willow, Cedar and Birch optic. The EasyWood materials contain a mixture of at least 40% grinded wood particles and are combined with their EasyFil polymers. According to manufacturer Formfutura it not only looks but also feels and smells like real wood.

By adjusting the printing temperature users are able to create a tree ring effect, which adds to the realistic appearance of the material.  You can clearly see that you can obtain different tints of the respective filament by varying your temperatures settings. Formfutura suggests that, sanding the prints lightly will increase this appearance even more.
