Prima Additive to showcase innovative 3D Printing Solutions at Formnext 2023

Prima Additive, a company specializing in metal-based additive manufacturing technologies, will present its latest developments at the Formnext trade show in Frankfurt, Germany. One of the key features of their technology is the flexibility to offer different laser configurations to meet the specific requirements of each application.

At Prima Additive’s booth, visitors can get deeper insights into the technologies they offer. The highlight is the “Print Genius 150 Double Wavelength” machine, which is equipped with two lasers of different wavelengths: a 500 W infrared laser and a 200 W green laser. This machine can switch between the two lasers in the same work area, providing outstanding performance and accuracy. The infrared laser can be used to process conventional materials such as steel and aluminum, while the green laser is particularly suitable for processing reflective materials such as copper or precious metals.

Another highlight at the booth is the IANUS multiprocess robotic cell, which is equipped with a 3 kW blue laser. It is characterized by its versatility and can work with two different laser sources in the same system.

An important aspect of this technology is Prima Additive’s collaboration with Siemens. Together, they have developed a feature that allows users to interact with the robotic cell through a single control panel and program it with machine instructions without having to learn a specific robot language.

In addition, Prima Additive will also be showcasing its “Prima Additive Marketplace” at Formnext, a digital platform developed in collaboration with Italian company Morphica. Here, customers can request the creation of metal components, which are then produced with the help of Prima Open Additive Labs’ network.

Prima Additive’s latest developments demonstrate the progress and versatility in metal-based additive manufacturing. With innovative solutions and partnerships such as with Siemens, the company is positioning itself as a leading player in this growing market.
