Prototek announces strategic merger

Prototek, a digital manufacturing company, has announced the formal acquisition of four business units – Sac EDM & Waterjet, Inc, Midwest Prototyping, ProtoCAM and Prototype Solutions Group – under the Prototek brand.

This strategic consolidation marks an important milestone for Prototek and positions the company as a heavyweight in the digital manufacturing space.

Headquartered in New Hampshire, Prototek is now a comprehensive one-stop shop for digital manufacturing services with locations throughout the United States. The merger of these cutting-edge companies enhances Prototek’s ability to deliver unrivaled solutions and maintain the highest quality standards for its customers.

The decision to consolidate stems from Prototek’s commitment to meet the evolving needs of its customers. By combining the strengths of the acquired companies, Prototek aims to provide faster, seamless and comprehensive digital manufacturing services. These include additive manufacturing, CNC and sheet metal fabrication, and wire and die sinking EDM machines.

Bill Bonadio, CEO of Prototek, expressed enthusiasm about the consolidation, stating, “This strategic move allows us to provide an even broader range of solutions to our valued customers. Our hands-on approach, combined with our clients’ vision, enables us to create intelligent solutions from innovation to scale. Clients can trust that our process and quality remain unmatched in the industry.”

At the time of the merger, Prototek will also unveil its revamped website on December 20, 2023. The new site will feature a full service lineup and rapid prototyping offerings, underscoring Prototek’s commitment to innovation and leadership in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, energy and consumer products.

Prototek and the acquired companies continue to emphasize a hands-on approach, prioritizing innovation and delivering high-quality, agile results across multiple industries.

Sac EDM & Waterjet, Inc. are specialists in waterjet cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM) and CNC machining. Midwest Prototyping is a key player in on-demand additive manufacturing. ProtoCAM excels in additive manufacturing. Prototype Solutions Group combines the latest technologies with industry knowledge and experience.

Prototek assures its current customers and stakeholders of a seamless transition and emphasizes that the level of service and quality will either remain the same or improve with the expanded offerings. The company has invested heavily in quality control measures and processes to meet customer expectations and adapt to evolving industry practices.
