Sicnova distributes Filkemp technical 3D printing filaments

Spanish company Sicnova has announced a distribution partnership for 3D printing filaments from Portuguese manufacturer Filkemp. Sicnova will distribute the filaments for the Spanish and Latin American markets.

The focus will be on technically optimized materials such as PLN, a modified polylactic acid filament, or PPS based on polyphenylene sulfide. According to Sicnova, these filaments are characterized by high heat resistance and mechanical strength. They are thus said to meet even the highest industrial demands.

In addition to other engineering plastics, the Filkemp range also includes common materials such as nylon and PETG. Sicnova intends to sell the new filaments via its own web store, thus complementing its existing portfolio.

Filkemp is considered a pioneer in the industrial production of 3D printing filaments. The company, which emerged from Hoechst AG in 1998, says it can look back on decades of expertise in polymer processing. A special manufacturing process is said to guarantee consistent print quality and low moisture absorption of the filaments.

For Sicnova, the partnership with Filkemp is another step in expanding its 3D printing business. Founded in 2007, the company is now one of the leading suppliers of 3D printing technologies in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
