3DChimera launches New Color Options for Dyeformer

3DChimera will be presenting new updates to its Dyeformer at this year’s Formnext in Frankfurt. This product can be used to color 3D-printed objects. Visitors will be able to see a fully functional system at stand B51 in hall 11 of the USA Pavilion.

The introduction of the Dyeformer last year filled a gap in the market. It provides an accessible, cost-effective and consistent method of coloring traditionally white or gray nylon PA12 parts produced by powder bed fusion. This year’s addition of eight shades – magenta, red, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue and violet – makes the system easy to use and opens up a wide range of color combination possibilities for printed parts.

The colors are available in different pack sizes and can be purchased together with the Dyeformer machine. At $4,999, the price of the machine remains well below the competition, which offers similar machines in the $15,000 to $60,000 range.

“The Dyeformer was designed to take the guesswork out of dyeing parts. We are able to guarantee that results are consistent and repeatable every time and adding color to the offering makes this the perfect choice for so many types of consumers”, shared 3DChimera owner, Alex Hussain.

The new system is fully equipped and ready to color materials such as PA12, CF/GF PA12, PA11, CF/GF PA11, TPE, TPU, PBT as well as 365, 385 and 405NM resins produced with SLS, MJF, SAF, SLA, DLP and mSLA processes. The black color solution can be reused for up to 30 days, while the new colored solutions have a shelf life of up to 24 hours.

With the expansion of the product portfolio, 3DChimera aims to attract new distribution partners and work with organizations to solve post-processing challenges.
