AM Solutions to show S1 machine and updates to C2 system at Formnext 2022

Having already announced that it will be showing its S1 Wet, S2, M1 Basic, and C1 AM post-processing machines at Formnext, AM post-processing solution innovator AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology announced that it will also be showing its S1 machine on stand C82 in Hall 12.0 and will also be giving show attendees an update about the development of its exciting C2 system. The C2 solution allows chemical smoothing and dyeing of 3D printed parts made from common polymers in one process step.

Daniel Hund, Head of Marketing at Rösler / AM Solutions says, “AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology provides a range of automated post-processing technologies developed in order to overcome the sometimes slow, costly, and disconnected AM process chain, and to ensure that AM is an efficient and viable production alternative to legacy manufacturing technologies. The company promotes innovative, customer-focused process development for AM operations, and collaborates with customers to ensure the optimal post-processing solution for each application. At Formnext we are presenting some of our extensive range of solutions targeting AM parts produced in any material and built on any system. With the S1 machine and a status update on the development of our C2 technology, we present two of our most versatile AM post-processing technologies, and along with the other solutions on display at Formnext show our dedication to streamlining the industrial use of AM across industry.”

The S1 is a smart solution for cleaning and surface finishing, which set new standards for the post-processing of parts from powder bed fusion (PBF) AM technologies. The smart plug-and-play S1 AM post-processing solution impresses by being able to perform cleaning and surface finishing all in one self-contained unit, in a manual or automatic process.

Furthermore, it is also suitable for the surface finishing or depowdered metal components made from non-reactive metals. The S1 is equipped with a blast media conditioning system for optimal and consistent quality of the blasting media. Moreover, it features a newly developed air management system, which means even fewer deposits in the interior.
The S1 comes with an improved basket design for optimal distribution and tumbling of the parts, with a specially developed wear protection lining made of non-staining anti-static polyurethane.

The constant rotation of the workpieces during the cleaning process ensures repeatable and consistent shot blasting results. The S1’s ergonomic design, combined with a process-optimized nozzle placement for automatic operation, rounds off the overall package, which thanks to its compact and robust design can be easily integrated into any production environment and offers maximum reproducibility, traceability, and cost efficiency.

Hund concludes, “AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology is part of the Rösler Group which has been innovating surface finishing and post-processing technologies for over 80 years. Its full range of AM post-processing technologies is focused on the removal of powder and support structures, surface smoothing, surface homogenisation, dyeing, and polishing. The company also provides a wide range of consumables meaning that it is able to optimise the post processing of parts by customising the combination of machine and media to ideally suit specific applications. In this way AM Solutions’ post-processing technologies promote outstanding quality, a high degree of result repeatability, and excellent cost efficiency.”

The extent of the array of innovative AM post-processing solutions on show at Formnext demonstrates AM Solutions’ dedication to the 3D printing sector, and the company’s team of experts will there in force to discuss all the postprocessing requirements of the show attendees.
