The Chinese supplier of metal 3D printers BLT presented several new systems at the Formnext trade fair. According to the press release, the focus is on the BLT-S400 large-format printer and an automated powder handling system.
With its three-laser configuration, the BLT-S400 is aimed specifically at the series production of small and medium-sized components. According to the manufacturer, the printer is designed to significantly reduce the required printing time and workload for customers.
The BLT-S400 is complemented by an automated powder system that ensures safe transportation and reuse of the metal powder. According to BLT, it enables several 3D printers to be fed without an operator, thereby increasing efficiency.
At the Formnext trade fair, BLT also showcased various components that were produced using the company’s own metal 3D printers. Among other things, a titanium component for aviation and a nozzle for rocket engines were presented.
In addition to 3D printers, BLT’s range of services also includes metal powders developed in-house and proprietary software for controlling the systems. With these new developments, the Chinese company aims to further position itself in the market for metal additive manufacturing.
