Eplus3D: Leading role in the additive manufacturing sector for the aerospace industry in China

The importance of additive manufacturing for the aerospace industry is becoming increasingly apparent. The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently published a list of 42 typical application scenarios for additive manufacturing in 2023. Eplus3D, a provider of industrial 3D printing machines, stands out in particular.

The list includes four of the eight leading application scenarios in the industrial sector in which Eplus3D is significantly involved. These include the integrated production of lightweight, porous structures with complex thin walls, the manufacture of key components in the meter range and the batch production of complex engine components for the aerospace industry. In addition, Eplus3D is involved in the development and optimization of high-temperature powder compositions for turbine disks in commercial aviation.

Eplus3D’s involvement in these projects demonstrates official recognition of the company’s capabilities in metallic 3D printing. Customers such as the Chinese Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sichuan Aerospace Zhongtian Power Equipment Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Shenlan Space Co., Ltd. (Deep Blue Aerospace) rely on Eplus3D’s solutions.

The large build volume of the EP-M1550 machine of 1550 x 1550 x 1100 mm and the 16-laser system make it the ideal choice for the direct production of large-format, high-precision components in the aerospace industry. The precise multi-laser positioning and overlap control guarantee uniformity and stability throughout the entire printing process.
