Rapid.Tech 3D: Change at the top of the advisory board

Change at the top of the Rapid.Tech 3D advisory board: Prof. Dr. Christian Seidel, Head of the Smart Manufacturing Lab at Munich University of Applied Sciences and Head of the Additive Manufacturing research field at the Fraunhofer Institute for Foundry, Composite and Processing Technology IGCV Augsburg, succeeds Prof. Gerd Witt from the University of Duisburg-Essen. Together with Stratasys manager Michael Eichmann, who has been contributing industry expertise at the helm of the advisory board since the first Rapid.Tech 3D, Prof. Seidel forms the board’s new leadership duo.

The scientist has already been closely associated with the Erfurt trade congress for more than ten years, both as a guest and as a speaker. “I have great sympathy for the congress, which has a unique position in Germany due to its concept. I am happy to play an active role in further strengthening this important established platform. In addition to the top-class industry forums, I see my task as further enhancing the scientific part of the congress. This includes attracting even more young researchers to present their work to an expert audience in Erfurt,” says Prof. Seidel. He also finds support for this from his predecessor. Prof. Witt remains associated with Rapid.Tech 3D as honorary chairman.

The next Rapid.Tech 3D will be held in Erfurt from May 14 to 16, 2024. It will then be the 20th event.
