TRIDITIVE announces new partnerships in SCALADD

TRIDITIVE are partnering with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and University of Oviedo MediaLab to drive researching and training programs in SCALADD AM platform.

SCALADD is intended to be the largest AM platform for mass manufacturing incorporating the technology developed by TRIDITIVE “AMCELL®” to provide to industrial companies access to percentages of SCALADD high additive manufacturing production capacity in metals and polymers, technology and services provided by the different partners of the Consortium.

The objective of SCALADDs is that the associated industry to SCALADD can have access to hours of manufacturing, percentages of SCALADD production capacity, and besides have access to the key enabling technology partners. According to Mariel Diaz CEO at TRIDITIVE “Companies that do not want to invest in 3D printing capacity or do not have yet the knowledge themselves, can then purchase capacity on one of the AMCELL® machines in SCALADD. Production hours.” The aim of this partnership with Universities is to increase the collaboration, communication and research in new processes and technologies in additive manufacturing with metals and polymers and exchange information about knowledge about skills in Additive Manufacturing in the factories of future.

Through the strategic partnership with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will provide AM training in the processability and characterization of polymers processed by additive manufacturing in order to increase the knowledge in design and optimization by genetic algorithm of AM parts.

In order to expand this technology in the education and training of new professionals the MediaLab of Oviedo University will create links between engineering students and SCALADD developing specialized training in AM and research projects in this field of knowledge.

We share a common goal attempting to implement new training methods that may be implemented by Universities, but also provide the manufacturing industry with new professionals with skills in AM this technology will help the manufacturing industry to innovate and to be more competitive ” said Mariel Díaz Castro, CEO at TRIDITIVE.

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) is a Spanish public university, located in the Autonomous Region of the Canary Islands, with more than 23,000 students. The Research Group Integrated and Advanced Manufacturing member of the Spanish Association of Rapid Manufacturing (ASERM) comprises researchers from the mechanical engineering and chemical process engineering departments. The group has undertaken a considerable amount of research related to Additive Manufacturing techniques and has an expertise on the characterization of plastic parts made by SLS and FDM.

The University of Oviedo is a public institution of higher education and research in the Principality of Asturias it offers a full range of undergraduate degrees adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) in all branches of knowledge. Medialab Uniovi was launched in 2018 supported by Gijon Town Council comprises a group of lecturers from the University of Oviedo, together with engineers, architects, philosophers and tech startup entrepreneurs. It aims to improve students’ abilities by offering them the chance to participate in hybrid research lines in fourth generation industry.

TRIDITIVE is an spanish AM industrial machinery manufacturer company that has taken additive manufacturing from prototyping to series production with AMCELL®, the first and only hybrid automated AM machine in the market capable to mass manufacture components in metals and polymers.
