3D Paint from AnkerMake: convert images into 3D models

Besides CityPrint, AnkerMake has released a second new tool called 3D Paint on its 3D model portal “Make It Real”. It allows the conversion of 2D images into 3D printable models.

You simply upload an image in JPG or PNG format. 3D Paint then automatically converts it into an STL file for 3D printing. Different colors and brightness levels are represented as slightly raised areas.

Cartoon-like images with clearly defined areas are best. However, there are limitations with complex designs. Still, 3D Paint is a creative gimmick for printing simple images as unique 3D objects. The online tool can be accessed here.

AnkerMake relies on the creativity of its user community with such innovations. The tools are intended to make the company’s own platform more attractive than its competitors and to tap into new user groups.
