Volume Graphics 2024.1 brings new functions for the foundry industry

Volume Graphics has released a new version of its software suite for non-destructive testing based on industrial computed tomography (CT). With enhanced data interpretation, collaboration, and presentation capabilities, the software enables users to more easily refine, integrate, and share their production quality results.

The software architecture includes VGSTUDIO MAX, VGSTUDIO, VGMETROLOGY, VGinLINE and myVGL and utilizes sophisticated algorithms developed over decades. It increasingly integrates automation and now also includes specialized deep learning tools.

A major new feature is the HTML reporting function, which supports interactive 3D views of parts or results. These self-contained documents are now easily accessible via any Chromium-based browser such as Edge or Chrome, allowing analyses to be viewed interactively at any stage of the quality assurance process.

In addition, a new PNG export feature is available that allows direct transfer of images created by Volume Graphics to almost any medium without the need for additional file conversions. This change makes for more meaningful visualizations, reports and presentations and speeds up the workflow when importing or exporting volume data.

These improvements could be of particular interest to the foundry industry, as the updated porosity inclusion analysis (PIA) capabilities make it easier for foundries to meet industry-specific compliance requirements. The instant, color-coded view of tolerance levels makes it easy to see whether or not the inspected areas are within tolerance.
