3D Printing specialist Caracol opens US Headquarters

Caracol, a pioneer in large-format 3D printing, recently opened its new headquarters in Austin, Texas, marking a step in its move into the North American market.

Caracol plans to manufacture and assemble its integrated large-format additive manufacturing platforms, known as Heron AM, directly in the United States. This will allow the company to better ensure local quality and certification standards.

“Today marks an important milestone for our company’s journey and international expansion. The North American market is quickly growing in the adoption of Large Format Additive Manufacturing, and Caracol is proud to play a key role here,” says Francesco De Stefano, Co-founder and CEO of Caracol. “Thanks to our new US headquarters and local operations, we’ll be able to push further the limits of this industry by delivering to our North American customers a top quality and locally manufactured technology”.

Caracol has partnered with TyRex Group, a leading manufacturing and innovation group in Austin. Austin and Texas were chosen because of the strong presence of advanced manufacturing capabilities and the intersection of technological development in the region.

Already, Caracol has assembled a dedicated local team and world-class distribution and parts manufacturing partners. The company plans to triple its operating capacity in the region over the next two years. This is part of an international project being undertaken by the company with the support of its strategic, legal and financial advisors Growth Capital, FieldFisher and ICP Americas.

The opening of the North American headquarters is a significant milestone for Caracol and represents a response to the growing demand for large format additive manufacturing platforms. With local manufacturing and a strong partner network, Caracol appears well positioned to meet the specific needs of the North American market.
