3D Systems presents MJP 300W and VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby

3D Systems announces the launch of the MJP 300W and VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby material to further push the boundaries of additive manufacturing in the jewelry sector. The innovative MJP 300W wax 3D printer not only brings increased productivity and design freedom, but also optimized properties to meet the challenges of foundry processes with precision and temperature resistance thanks to the new VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby.

Within the market, which is expected to grow to a value of more than $22 billion by 2030, 3D printing is establishing itself as a key element for customized and complex jewelry designs. Here, 3D Systems combines the potential of 3D printing technology with specific material developments to increase the precision and efficiency of production.

The MJP 300W impresses with two new printing modes – QHD and UHD – which promise a remarkable increase in resolution and thus a significant improvement in surface quality. With the additional integrated industrial control light, the printer offers convenient monitoring of print progress and helps reduce operating costs thanks to innovative improvements in the printhead and hardware.

The new VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby material presents itself as a robust, thermally stable wax that not only exhibits high dimensional stability during normal handling and shipping, but also allows the pre-insertion of stones to be integrated into the manufacturing process. These features enable efficient production of complex jewelry pieces and underscore 3D Systems’ commitment to aligning material developments and 3D printing technologies.

Shashidhar Kumar, Partner at Shree Rapid Technologies, explains, “We were pleased to be able to use this material for our jewelry manufacturing applications early on. “Our experience has shown that it is very easy to handle and provides models with higher strength and improved flexibility, allowing us to offer our customers higher quality and more durable results. It’s also great for pre-setting stones, which helps our customers produce pieces with complex details more efficiently.”

“One of the greatest benefits of additive manufacturing is the unrestricted design freedom. This is extremely important in allowing talented artisans to express their creativity,” said Marty Johnson, vice president, product and engineering, 3D Systems. “With the introduction of the MJP 300W and our new VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby material, we are providing manufacturers of cast wax models for jewelry making with expanded capabilities to improve productivity and processes that ensure reliability. 3D Systems’ complete system integration of materials, printers, printing processes and software, enhanced by our application expertise and global customer success team, opens up new levels of innovation, quality and reliability for our jewelry manufacturing customers. The latest additions to our end-to-end jewelry manufacturing solutions underscore our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs. We aim to achieve unprecedented levels of flexibility and ease of use that ensure high-quality results at any scale.”

The MJP 300W and VisiJet Wax Jewel Ruby will be available from November 2023. For those who want to dive deeper, the Istanbul Jewelry Show offers an exclusive opportunity to do so.

With the presentation of these technology and material innovations, 3D Systems takes another step to not only consolidate the position of 3D printing in the jewelry market, but to further develop it in an innovative and customer-oriented way.
