AMPOWER Report 2024: Double-digit growth in additive manufacturing despite challenges

The new AMPOWER Report 2024 shows market growth of 10.3% for industrial additive manufacturing in 2023, bringing the total market for 3D printing systems, materials and services in the metal and polymer sector to a volume of EUR 10.5 billion. Market researchers are forecasting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.9% until 2028.

Last year presented the additive manufacturing industry with challenges due to increased competition and falling sales figures. Rising capital costs and consolidation efforts led to declining sales and low stock market valuations for industry giants such as 3D Systems and Stratasys.

However, industry experts see good growth opportunities, particularly in the highly sought-after defense industry, but also in other areas with a need for complex solutions and resilient manufacturing capabilities.

The results of the AMPOWER Report 2024 are based on over 300 personal interviews with industry representatives and more than 34,000 data points from manufacturers and users. This makes the study a reliable source of data for well-founded decisions.
