BMF presents Projection Micro Stereolithography at the AM Expo Lucerne

Boston Micro Fabrication (BMF), a leading provider of advanced manufacturing solutions for applications requiring ultra-high precision, will showcase its breakthrough Projection Micro Stereolithography (PµSL) technology at the Additive Manufacturing Expo in Lucerne, Switzerland on September 12-13, 2023. It can be used to create components in medical technology, life sciences and electronics that were previously impossible to manufacture.

Projection Micro Stereolithography (PµSL) enables 3D printing of components at a resolution of 2µ and a scale fidelity of +/- 10 microns. To achieve this, the advantages of digital light processing (DLP) and stereolithography are combined in a new way. The precise projection of an ultraviolet light flash triggers rapid photopolymerization of an entire layer of material in the resin basin at a time. Workpieces are built from the bottom up, reducing the need for support structures. Three series of 3D printers have been developed and successfully launched by BMF in the global market so far. Their high-precision optics, combined with ultra-fine electric stepper motors, advanced calibration¬features and robust linear guides, result in ultra-high part accuracy, precision and resolution. Faster material distribution enables high speeds with repeatable quality.

“Because of the strong share of precision mechanics and micro manufacturing and industries such as medical technology, life sciences, electronics and microfluidics, we consider Switzerland an important market for our innovative products,” says Steffen Hägele, Sales Manager Europe at BMF. “We show and manufacture sample parts, advise on manufacturing issues and are available for in-depth discussions.”

AM Expo is the only trade show in Switzerland dedicated exclusively to additive manufacturing. At the trade show, 80 exhibitors along the entire value chain will demonstrate in an application-oriented manner the possibilities offered by additive manufacturing and how the manufacturing technology can be used profitably.
