British 3D printing company RYSE 3D on course for expansion

British 3D printing company RYSE 3D has won significant major contracts recently. According to the company, RYSE 3D is now involved in 14 hypercar projects, producing a range of parts for the vehicles – from complete HVAC systems to brake cooling ducts and rearview mirror systems.

Founded in 2017 by college graduate Mitchell Barnes, the Shipston-on-Stour-based company is now a multimillion-dollar enterprise with plans for global expansion. It aims to revolutionize the world of 3D printing and offer cost-effective and scalable production solutions, Barnes said. More than £1 million has already been invested in the company’s Warwickshire headquarters, he said. Capacity is expected to double in the coming months using in-house 3D printers.

According to Barnes, RYSE 3D has already secured contracts with big names in the automotive industry. The ability to replace costly parts with 3D-printed alternatives has opened doors, he said. It is also active in other industries such as motorcycles and logistics, he said. Exports already account for 40% of the total, he said. To meet growing demand, the company has increased its workforce by more than 200%.

RYSE 3D offers customers prototypes and parts from batch size 1 on the same day. Using processes such as MJF, SLS or SLA, functional parts can be made from sustainable materials such as vegetable nylon. Barnes says 3D printing of tools and molds opens up great possibilities.

From a small startup with a homemade 3D printer, RYSE 3D has grown into a company with 80 employees and high-tech manufacturing.
