colorFabb announces varioShore: a new flexible filament

colorFabb, innovative filament producer from The Netherlands, announces a brand new 3D printing filament today: varioShore TPU. With varioShore TPU colorFabb has developed a filament that is flexible in more ways than one:

  • Variable shore hardness: This material is not limited to one shore hardness, but with the right print settings you can have multiple shore hardnesses – even in one print!
  • Reduce weight and density: colorFabb used the technology to create LW-PLA (the light weight filament launched earlier this year) in varioShore TPU as well to reduce weight significantly. Although the weight reduction of varioShore TPU is not as significant as LW-PLA, the weight of the overall print is noticable and can make the difference for prints where weight matters.
  • Soft Touch: Prints that need a soft touch, like handle bars for bikes or shoe soles are no problem anymore with varioShore TPU.

varioShore TPU will be introduced and publicly shown for the first time at the Kunststoffenbeurs 2019 in Veldhoven, The Netherlands. The Kunststoffenbeurs is the leading plastics and rubber trade show in the Netherlands. colorFabb will exhibit, at stand 48, with sister companies Helian Polymers (trading company in masterbatches and bioplastics) and Blackbelt 3D, the producer of the belt printer able to print long and continuous prints. Working closely together the synergy between the companies allows for a unique position to service their customers looking for material and printing solutions.

Shipping of varioShore TPU will start as from mid October. Pre-ordering will start approximately a week before shipping. Pricing will be announced then.

varioShore TPU is another new innovative 3D printing filament from colorFabb, following past successes like bronzeFill, LW-PLA, nGen_LUX and the unique Color on Demand service where hundreds of colors can be matched as a PLA filament!
