Disney buys large-format 3D printer from Massivit

Massivit 3D Printing Technologies has received an order from Walt Disney Imagineering to purchase a Massivit 10000-G, Massivit’s most advanced 3D printer.

The order is for the Massivit 10000-G, the company’s most advanced 3D printer. This latest addition to Massivit’s product range represents the second generation of in-house printers and enables rapid, customized production of large parts, industrial tools and prototypes.

Walt Disney Imagineering, responsible for the creation, design and construction of Disney theme parks and attractions worldwide, will become part of the growing user base of Massivit’s industrial 3D printers with this purchase. These are used particularly in the entertainment industry for the production of large-scale creative experiences in the USA and worldwide.

The Massivit 10000-G utilizes Cast In Motion technology and unique printing materials developed by Massivit. The first material developed for the Massivit 10000, CIM 500, enables direct printing of molds to produce components from composite materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass. The second material, CIM 84, which was launched in November 2023, meets the strict American fire protection and safety standards that are particularly required in the construction of theme parks. These materials significantly expand the market potential of Massivit’s offerings.

Erez Zimerman, Massivit’s CEO, remarked: “The signing of this agreement with Disney is an important foothold for Massivit in the theme park sector. This is an industry which still utilizes antiquated fabrication methods that demand extensive manpower . The clear advantages of Massivit’s technology – print size, print speed and advanced printing materials – will enable Disney to rapidly produce high-quality components that comply with the most stringent industry standards.”
