Freemelt sells industrial 3D Printer to Turkish University

Swedish 3D printer manufacturer Freemelt has received another order for a Freemelt ONE machine. This time from a Turkish university that will use the machine for electron beam melting (EBM) process development, application development and material characterization. The order is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2024.

Freemelt ONE specializes in materials research and is focused on accelerating the introduction of new materials and products into industrial applications. Electron beam melting (EBM) technology has gained tremendous importance, especially in the metalworking sector. Freemelt therefore sees a growing need in various business areas such as medical implants, electromobility, defense and renewable energy.

The Turkish university plans to use Freemelt ONE for further research and development work in the field of process development for EBM and new material characterization processes.

Freemelt’s CEO, Daniel Gidlund comments, “We are proud of this new order, which is our second in just a few days. The order of the Freemelt ONE machine by a Turkish university underlines the growing interest in EBM technologies and additive manufacturing processes.
