Laempe presents sand binder jetting printer at GIFA 2023

Plant manufacturer Laempe Mössner Sinto will have its 3D printer at GIFA 2023. Held every two years in Düsseldorf, GIFA is the world’s largest trade fair for foundry technology.

With the Laempe Core Printer (LCP), the company has its own development for the binder jetting process in its program. In contrast to conventional powder bed printers, this uses a sand-binder mixture. According to Laempe, the LCP is characterized by a significantly higher printing speed than is usual on the market.

The first LCP printers have already been delivered to a global automotive group. With the 3D printer, Laempe sees itself as a pioneer for a disruptive manufacturing technology in the foundry industry. According to Managing Director André Klimm, the company aims to provide customers with holistic support for digitalization with its broad portfolio of solutions, from design to turnkey systems.

The 3D printer is designed to help customers overcome challenges such as material availability, energy efficiency and skills shortages. According to Laempe, the additive process will play a key role in the future of the casting industry.
