BICO Group AB announced that Erik Gatenholm has decided to step down as President and CEO of BICO Group after discussions with the Board of Directors. Maria Forss has been appointed as the new President and CEO.
Maria Forss, born in 1972, brings extensive international experience from leadership positions in medtech and pharmaceutical companies. In her professional career, she has held leading roles at well-known companies such as Vitrolife and AstraZeneca. In recent years, she led Vitrolife’s consumables business as Senior Vice President and was previously Vice President of Business Development and Global Marketing. She has proven her skills on several occasions through successful business developments, product expansions and company acquisitions.
The decision for a change at the top of the company was made in joint consultation between Erik Gatenholm and the Board of Directors. In the upcoming phase, BICO Group needs a leader with strong operational knowledge and experience in scaling a global organization.

To ensure a smooth transition, Erik Gatenholm will remain in his current position until Maria Forss takes office. As a major shareholder, he will also continue to serve on BICO’s Board of Directors.
