Microsoft EVP Chris Capossela joins Formlabs Board of Directors

3D printing company Formlabs announced that Chris Capossela, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Microsoft, has joined the company’s board of directors.

Capossela will bring his extensive marketing expertise and technical knowledge as Formlabs continues its global expansion and introduces new solutions that make it easier for professionals to bring physical products to life.

Capossela has more than 30 years of experience at Microsoft, where he led marketing for the company’s consumer and business units. During his career, he has held various leadership positions and helped develop new business opportunities and customer experiences that have contributed to Microsoft’s impressive growth.

“Chris Capossela’s skills and experience will complement the board as we help guide Formlabs in the expansion of its ecosystem on a global scale,” said Formlabs Co-Founder and CEO Max Lobovsky. “Microsoft is one of the best and largest B2B technology companies in the world. We have so much to learn from Chris about how to bring technology solutions to a huge range of customers.”

“I’ve seen the potential of 3D printing firsthand. Formlabs is a standout in the 3D printing industry with a growing, innovative ecosystem of printers, software, accessories, and materials that will advance adoption of the technology,” said Capossela. “I’m excited to join the Formlabs board as the company continues on its impressive growth path.”

Innovations from Formlabs can also be seen recently, including the introduction of Silicones 40A and Alumina 4N resins, as well as the Fuse 1+ 30W Starter Package. Priced at just $24,999, this offering makes SLS 3D printing more affordable and demonstrates how Formlabs is continually pushing 3D printing to expand capabilities in manufacturing, prototyping and product customization.
