Panerai and Brabus cooperate on 3D-printed luxury watch

Swiss manufacturer Panerai has joined forces with German tuning specialist Brabus to unveil a luxury diver’s watch with a 3D-printed titanium case.

The “Submersible S Brabus eTitanio” was produced using the Laser Powder Bed Fusion process. This involves fusing recycled titanium powder material layer by layer. This makes for an extremely lightweight, yet extremely durable case.

According to Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué, the companies are united not only by the pursuit of aesthetics, but also innovation. The collaboration is expected to produce groundbreaking concepts for discerning customers.

The design of the diver’s watch is inspired by Brabus motorboats. The edition is limited to 177 pieces, which should make it a sought-after collector’s item.

For Panerai, it is a step towards 3D printed manufacturing in the luxury segment. Brabus, in turn, can contribute its expertise in high-end materials.
