Saudi 3D printing service provider Immensa invests $6 million in AI software

Saudi company Immensa, a 3D printing service provider, is investing over $6 million in AI software it developed in-house. The software, called DIS-RT, is designed to enable the digitization of supply chains in the oil and gas industry.

According to Immensa, the software has already been used to analyze more than one million spare parts for their suitability for on-demand manufacturing. In the process, thousands of parts suitable for regional production in the Gulf region have been identified, it said.

The goal, he said, is to help oil and gas companies future-proof their supply chains and make them more efficient using 3D printing and digital technologies. Immensa says it is the first private 3D printing operation in Saudi Arabia. It plans to print spare parts for the oil and gas industry at a recently opened production facility in Dammam. Through AI software, Immensa aims to help customers identify and digitally manage suitable parts.

According to Immensa CEO Fahmi Al-Shawwa, the software helps companies take advantage of 3D printing and digital manufacturing in their supply chains. In this way, the company is contributing to a modernization push in the traditionally dominated industry.
